Custom Shopify Apps
Connect Shopify to the workflow you need.
When a catalog or business workflow needs functionality that the available tools cannot support, we can scope custom development. We review relevant native capabilities and existing apps first, then define the required behavior, dependencies and testing. Each project receives a scoped quote with ownership, hosting and support terms agreed before work begins.

Scoped quote
Requirements, ownership, dependencies and support are agreed before development.
Is this the right fit?
- Existing apps create conflicts or duplicated features
- A unique customer journey needs a tailored finder or configurator
- Internal tools must connect Shopify data to other systems
What the work can involve.
Product Finder & Configurator
A guided product selection flow can use agreed catalog attributes such as compatibility, size or use case. We review the product data and customer choices first, then scope the interface and matching rules. The implementation approach follows the requirements rather than assuming every finder needs a separate app.
API & Business Connection
An integration can connect agreed Shopify records with an inventory, fulfillment or other business system. Data mapping, permissions, supported APIs, retry behavior and failure handling are reviewed as requirements. Access and third-party limits are confirmed before promising what the connection will support.
App Review & Consolidation
Review the relevant installed apps and native capabilities for the specific workflow. We explain the trade-offs between configuration, replacing a tool and building custom functionality. A wider app-stack investigation is a separate scope; the relevant workflow review does not include unlimited app investigation.
Agree the scope first.
Deliverables and boundaries are written down before work starts.
Scoped deliverables
- A scoped proposal with agreed functionality and boundaries
- Implementation and testing of the agreed app or integration
- Documentation for agreed setup, usage and dependencies
- Written ownership, hosting and support arrangements appropriate to the quote
What to agree separately
- Additional features and changes are discussed as separate scope
- Platform plans, API access and third-party service terms can constrain the implementation
- Shopify, hosting, third-party services and maintenance may still carry ongoing costs
How we work together.
Review & Discovery
We examine existing apps, native features and the specific workflow gap. Native and installed options are evaluated first.
Scoped Quote
A fixed-scope proposal covering features, dependencies, hosting, ownership and support terms. No work starts without agreement.
Build & Handover
Review the agreed functionality and testing, document the implementation and dependencies, and hand over according to the quote. Ownership, deployment responsibilities and any post-launch support are agreed separately rather than assumed.
Useful questions.
Do you build on top of existing apps or write from scratch?
We review the relevant native capabilities and existing apps first. A configuration change or an existing tool may be a better fit. Custom work is proposed for the gap that remains, with platform requirements checked.
Who owns the app after it's built?
Ownership, source access, licensing and third-party dependencies are set out in the quote before development starts. No automatic transfer or universal licensing arrangement is assumed.
What about hosting and ongoing maintenance?
We identify hosting, maintenance and support requirements during scoping. Responsibilities, costs and any support period are agreed in the proposal; they are not automatically included with every build.
How long does a custom app take?
The schedule follows the agreed functionality, integrations, access and review milestones. We discuss these dependencies before setting a timeline rather than applying a standard duration to every app.
